Kroghie Andresen
Kroghie Andresen owns and operates Andresen Advisory, LLC, a decoy appraisal and buying/selling advisory firm based in Charlotte, NC. In conjunction with his life-long interest in waterfowl hunting, Kroghie started collecting old working decoys in 1979. This hobby eventually turned into a passion that led not only to a large collection of over 1,300 decoys from North Carolina and Virginia, but also to the publication of several books to record the history of the decoys and their carvers. His previous books include Gunnin' Birds, ArtDuckO, and Mitchell Fulcher, Master Decoy Carver.
Philip Harvey
In 1975, Philip Harvey and his wife, Susan, began buying, selling, and collecting antiques. They specialized in Americana and country furniture, showing at many national antique shows. Living in the coastal environment of eastern North Carolina, old waterfowl decoys quickly became a major part of their antique business. They eventually decided to limit their decoy collecting to North Carolina carvers, with an emphasis on decoys that had folk-art appeal. In 1986 Philip and Susan opened The Bird Store, a retail store in Kill Devil Hills, NC, that specializes in wildlife art, old and new decoys, and other coastal collectibles.

This 209-page, full-color, hard cover book chronicles the shorebird hunting heritage and shorebird decoys of the Outer Banks and Back Bay area and shares images from the finest collections. The book is written primarily for serious decoy collectors, but anyone with an interest in folk art will find beauty and fascinating history within its pages. It is Kroghie Andresen's fourth book on the topic of waterfowl and shorebird decoys and decoy collecting. He was joined by Philip Harvey, an avid fisherman and collector, in writing this book and compiling its detailed history.
ArtDuckO is a 152 page book produced by the NC Museum of History in Raleigh documenting an exhibit in 2009 about North Carolina’s Waterfowl Heritage. It was written and edited by Kroghie Andresen and Sandra Webbere. The book highlights waterfowl decoys made by 58 notable carvers, numerous artifacts and hunting memorabilia from North Carolina.

Gunnin' Birds written Kroghie Andresen features the decoys of over 200 carvers from Back Bay, Virginia and Currituck and Dare County, North Carolina. It has 400 pages with over 1300 images which are mostly pictures of decoys, so it is truly a comprehensive decoy reference book.
Mitchell Fulcher – Master decoy Carver, written by Kroghie Andresen and Jack Dudley is a 160 page hard cover book covering the life and carvings of the most recognized decoy carver from Carteret County, North Carolina. It covers each of the waterfowl species that he carved and describes his relationships with other carvers and hunting clubs on Core Sound.
